The Altbau, built around 1903 at Volbedingstraße 23, proves to be of robust and timeless character. With its striking angular shape, it presents itself simply and confidently - without flourishes or frills. The facade recently received a new coat of paint. The boiler was also recently renewed and an environmentally conscious solar system was added to the roof years ago. The lushly landscaped courtyard area provides space for various bicycles and three cars. The renovated staircase shows its best side with freshly painted walls and ceilings, a new staircase system as well as new electrical and lighting. All apartments were renovated, new parquet floors, radiators and doors, spackled and whitewashed walls, modern tiles in the kitchens and bathrooms as well as new bathroom objects were part of the basic fixtures and fittings. The apartment sizes vary between 54 and 101 square meters and each unit has a cellar compartment.
Mockau-Süd is a district in the northeast of Leipzig that combines many features to create a lively environment. Here, small-town ambience and big-city feeling, industrial charm and Altbau aesthetics, along with proximity to the city center and nature meet in an inspiring way. Well-kept Wilhelminian style facades and lush green park meadows, but also extensive commercial areas and small gardens characterize the area. The quality of living is high with small retailers, bistros and restaurants as well as a nearby shopping center to serve your everyday needs. Schools, sports facilities and swimming pools can also be found within walking distance. Thanks to numerous bus, tram and S-Bahn connections, the city-center and main train station can also be reached in less than ten minutes.
