The existing, period building was constructed around 1900, in the typical Berlin Altbau style, with beautiful high ceilings, wooden floors and stucco decoration, centred on a front building and side-wing. This building was modernised and partially refurbished, including the restoration of the simple, bright façade. As if this weren’t enough, an entirely new, 6-storey residential building will be raised as an annex in the courtyard, contrasting wonderfully with the existing building to form a harmonious whole.
Though directly next to the hugely popular, busy and hip Neukölln, Britz has more of a neighbourhood feel to it.
