Berlin clubs

There's a good chance you'll find yourself in a nightclub during your stay in Berlin. It's a party like no other, with DJs, artists, and performers from all over the world in attendance. Watergate, Prince Charles, Anomalie Art, Kit Kat, and der Visionaere are just a few of the top nightclubs in Berlin for drinking, dancing, and debauchery. Certain clubs in Berlin take their dress codes quite seriously, so dress accordingly for the club you wish to visit.

Berlin bars and pubs

While the German capital is best known for its techno clubs, the city also boasts many inviting bars, ranging from exquisite cocktail lounges and rooftop chill spots to beautiful garden pubs perfect for catching the sunset. Whether you're in the mood for a cool Pilsner or a classic old fashioned, the vibrant city is certain to have it. The Rooftop Terrace, Prater Garten, Monkey Bar, Ankerklause, and Green door are some of the ideal spots to unwind on a warm evening with a cold German beer or cocktail in hand.

Berghain

Among the numerous famed nightclubs in Berlin, this one stands out. It has three dance floors: A main area where most DJs play techno; Panorama Bar, an upstairs space focused on house; and Säule on the ground floor, though the music policy in all rooms is pretty flexible. The legendary nightclub is renowned for its unrivalled musical quality, the power of its sound system, and the infamous dark chambers. There is a reason you are not allowed to use your phone inside. Going there is like entering a parallel universe. It's a place where you can forget about yourself and have the time of your life. You can choose to dance to house music upstairs at the Panorama Bar or downstairs, where the sound is louder and faster. The club’s door policy is perhaps its most famous feature. Each weekend, hundreds of people, including regulars, are frequently turned away for reasons unknown to everyone but the door staff. Wear black? Stay cool? Not grin too much? Many are left wondering what they can do to please the famously picky staff.

Festival of lights in Berlin

Every year for ten days, the Festival of Lights transforms Berlin's world-famous landmarks and monuments into a canvas for jaw-dropping illuminations. Numerous local and international lighting artists take this opportunity to project their works of art onto some of the world's most famed structures, creating an unforgettable effect on the spectators. Since 2013, the Festival of Lights has taken place in Berlin each autumn, attracting over two million visitors. The festival began in the city centre, but it has since expanded to include illuminations throughout the city.
